TH - Pain of Love

When Bill woke up, the car was parked on the side of the road, surrounded by a forest. It was dark except for the moon shining in through the windshield. Bill sighed and squeezed his brother's leg, closing his eyes again. He breathed in the crisp midnight air as a cool breeze blew in through the open windows. He rolled over to look up at his brother. Tom was sleeping. His head was titled back and his mouth hung open a tiny bit. He looked sweet like that. Blissful, happy.

"Tomi," Bill whispered. Tom's mouth twitched slightly but his eyes didn't open. Bill giggled. He was so cute. "Tomi! I'm awake now! You should be too!" Bill called out, yanking on his brother's lip ring.

"Hey, ouch. Cut it out Bill," Tom said, swatting his brother's hand away.

"No Tomi, I will not cut it out. Wake up!"

"But I am up. I'm talking to you aren't I?"

Bill punched Tom playfully in the stomach. "I want your attention, silly. Your little brother feels neglected."

Tom finally opened his eyes. He looked… Godly. Bill had to pinch his legs together to keep himself from getting too excited.

"Tomi," I whispered. "I need to tell you something."

"What is it Bill?"

"Why are you so kind to me? After all that's happened…."

"Because… I love you and-"

Bill had to cut him off. "I love you too, but why does it hurt so much? You don't love me like I love you and it…. It hurts. I don't like being in pain…"

"I know Billa… I know. The pain of love will last forever…. But it won't break us up, even though it will never stop. It's in our hearts and it's deeper than the ocean. We can celebrate the pain together."

Bill felt tears welling in his eyes and stroked his brother's leg. "Tomi, that was beautiful."

"Without it, it's not worth living," he continued.

Bill was puzzled by this. He hated being in pain. To him, love was supposed to be a good feeling, not a bad one.

"Billa, I love you so much," Tomi said. He was looking down, straight into Bill's eyes. It was making his stomach feel like there were butterflies fluttering around. He liked it though. He loved how all of Tom's attention was focused on him.


"I love you too Tomi."

"Billa, you're my baby, understand? I know I've hurt you recently, but… I want to make it all go away… When you're in pain, I'm in pain, and it kills me to know that I'm the reason why you're hurting. That's why I have a question…."

"Jaaaa?" Bill sighed, burying his head in his brother's lap. He smelled so good. So…. Masculine… So…. Manly. Bill loved it.

Tomi ran his fingers though Bill's hair and spoke softly. "Let's make a promise tonight so we can feel this pain of love forever."

"Together," Bill whispered.

Tom made a sound of agreement and ran his hands down Bill's back, making every limb in his brother's body tingle. At that moment Bill had a sudden urge to kiss Tom. He must have sensed it because Tom pulled Bill up into a sitting position and laid a soft kiss on his brother's lips and held it there for a few long moments. Bill was in heaven. Without thinking Bill slipped his tongue between his brother's lips and to his surprise, Tom opened up and returned the kiss.

"Bill," Tom mumbled, starting to pull away.

"No!" Bill whined into Tom's mouth, following the movements of Tom's head so their lips wouldn't part. "I like it…."

"It's wrong," Tom whispered, pulling Bill gently by the hair so he would stop kissing him.

"I know but… I love you…."

Tom gazed into Bill's eyes with that 'big brother' look of his. It made him melt.

"It's okay. I know you do and I accept your feelings, but I need time, okay?"

"Okay…." Bill whispered.

Tom started the car and began to pull onto the road. "Let's go home," he said. From that point, there was silence between the twins. The only connection between the two was in their minds and between their enclosed, identical hands being held together.
